Collectors

I’ve noticed that people in small towns tend to collect things.  I am no different, I seem to collect “Sally Stuff”.  While most is not particularly useful, some Sally stuff can be pleasing to look at.

I suspect “pleasing to look at” is the whole point.

Small towns themselves also collect things, they collect dead people.  Young people often move away seeking more opportunity and excitement.  But dead people … well they tend to stay put.

Natchitoches has been collecting for a long time.
Over the years it has amassed an impressive collection.
Some really good people now call the American Cemetery home.  It is worth a visit.

I have a goal of meeting 100 people in Natchitoches within my first year here.  I can’t count Cammie Garrett Henry since I didn’t actually meet her (but I think I would have liked to).  So the number so far still remains at 1.  Want to be in that number? … Come visit.
